The Leela Foundation was established in 2016 with the purpose of providing direct support to artists and educators in Indian classical arts. In December 2020, we presented our inaugural artist awards using Endowment funds. At a time when the Covid-19 pandemic has created a crisis for those who make their living through the arts, it was especially meaningful to be able to present these awards to three of India’s finest classical musicians.
